A warm and welcoming family in Pink Lake is seeking a compassionate, proactive, and creative In Home Care Educator to support the early learning and development of their two young children—aged 3 years and 19 months. The position involves providing structured and play-based learning opportunities in the family home, with a focus on age-appropriate developmental milestones, sensory activities, and inclusive care.
The eldest child has additional needs, and while prior experience with neurodivergence is highly valued, it is not essential. The right educator will be patient, engaging, and passionate about creating a nurturing environment that supports both children’s individual needs and learning styles.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver age-appropriate programs to support developmental milestones.
Facilitate daily educational activities including sensory play, arts and crafts, painting, and imaginative play.
Adapt activities to support individual learning needs, particularly for the 3-year-old with additional needs.
Work collaboratively with the parent/caregiver, who will provide guidance on existing routines and activities.
Maintain a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment in the home.
Provide regular feedback on the children’s progress and engagement.
Desirable Attributes and Experience:
Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or similar.
Experience in early childhood settings, preferably with In Home Care or similar.
Understanding or experience working with neurodivergent children (e.g., autism spectrum, sensory processing differences).
Creative, patient, and reliable with strong communication skills.
Knowledge of the EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework) is a plus.
Additional Information:
The family places a strong emphasis on sensory and creative play—educators who enjoy messy play and hands-on activities are encouraged to apply.
You must:
– Not essential, but preferable to have or be working towards getting your Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care or have a relevant higher education
– Be an experienced child care worker with at least 3 professional references.
– Have WWCC, Police Check, CPR and Level 2 First Aid
– Have a car & driver’s licence
– Be willing to commit for at least 12 months
– Full working rights in Australia. (A range of visas may be considered depending on conditions and length of remaining stay – for example: visa 190 or visa 186.
Applicants with 417 & 462 visas need not apply.)
