Emma, Martin & Thomas
My vote is for Susan, a lady who goes beyond being a carer and has
become a valued member of our family. Our 2 year old, Thomas loves his
friend ‘Shoe-Soul’ (Susan). He often wakes from his nap and calls for
her which is a testament to how much he loves his time with her. Susan
has been an integral part of Thomas’ development, his speech is
definitely improved by Susan’s commitment to reading to him and always
speaking clearly and using his attempts at words to gently guide him
towards the words he is trying to say. Considering we only have Susan
for 3 days a fortnight, it is obvious that their visits to the ‘lie-ly’
(library), the parks and all the lovely long walks are ensuring Thomas
is an active and interested kid with a joyful approach to almost
everything. The support Susan provides to us as parents is invaluable.
I cannot thank her enough for the chores she does without us asking or
any expectation from us. We feel incredibly lucky to have Susan in our
lives and appreciate every day that Thomas has with her.
