Larissa and Frank

Victoria possesses all the qualities of an outstanding and devoted carer and therefore we would like to nominate Victoria for the Carer of the Year award. Dealing with Victoria is a great pleasure; she is always on time, reliable, polite and highly professional in her approach. Victoria's shift with Nicholas always commences and finishes in a calm and organised way. We are never in doubt that our son will be in the best of care and that our plans for work, leisure or time-out are assured. Victoria has the gift of firm compassion, insight and consistency - the approach she uses when caring for Nicholas. Nicholas has no verbal or other means of communication, and yet Victoria has learnt to understand and importantly respond to Nicholas' needs and wants. We are never in doubt that our very vulnerable boy is in the best and safest of hands. Victoria meets the challenges of assisting Nicholas with everything - eating, drinking, changing, toileting, washing and dressing with a gentle patience and attention to detail. Moreover it is directly a result of Victoria's care that Nicholas is moving forward in many of these areas of self care. We have been overwhelmed with delight and gratitude when Victoria demonstrates how Nicholas can now position himself in her car without any assistance, a direct outcome of Victorias work with Nicholas and his new and appropriate responses to Victoria's verbal cues. The bond that exists between Nicholas and Victoria is one of respectful, continuous and nurturing care. Our family and Nicholas are very fortunate to have Victoria care for Nicholas and we commend her to you most highly for the award of Carer of the Year.
