Welcome to Australia's Leading Home Care Agency - Established 1999

Australia's Leading Home Care Agency (ALHCA) is owned and operated by a passionate Mother-Daughter team, Annie Sargood and Chris Sargood. They launched in 1999 - providing services Australia wide across metropolitan, rural and remote locations. The team specialises in the care and support of families, children, young people and parents who are approved for the In Home Care Program (Government subsidised Childcare in the family home).

IHC is a flexible form of early childhood education and care where an Educator provides care in the child's home. It is restricted to families who can't access other types of approved care. This could be due to:

  • Families living in remote and rural areas
  • Parents working non-standard or variable hours
  • Families faced with challenging or complex needs, who are facing challenging situations

Our Promise

Safety is our highest priority. We are equally committed to advocacy, integrity, honesty, and transparency, while delivering professional and friendly service. Our passionate team understands the importance and challenges of maintaining a manageable family-life balance. We take pride in being leaders in carefully screening and matching Educators with Families to ensure the best possible outcomes and support for each family’s unique needs.

In accordance with Family Assistance Law, relevant State and Territory legislation, Minister’s Rules, the In Home Care National Guidelines, the In Home Care Quality and Safety Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework, and the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics - together with the support and guidance of the ACECQA IHC Quality and Safety Team, the Department of Education In Home Care Quality and Inclusion Early Learning Division, and Regulatory Authorities - we support our Educators in providing high-quality care that engages children in meaningful learning experiences.

Our approach promotes the development of confident, creative individuals and lifelong learners, while encouraging children to become active and informed members of their communities.

We are committed to building secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with Families, Educators, and the wider community. Through collaboration with organisations including AHCA, Early Childhood Australia, ICPA, SNAICC, RAPAD, and others, we uphold and respect diversity, equity, inclusion, reflection, and collaboration, while maintaining the rights and dignity of children, families, colleagues, and communities.
