A lockdown in a care setting is used to protect residents, and visitors from serious risks by controlling movement in and out of the building. This may be necessary in situations where there is a threat to safety or wellbeing. Ask yourself: what situations could be dangerous enough to require lockdown? E.g. dangerous person nearby, police activity in the area, wildlife threat, chemical spill, threatening behaviour from a parent
